Tyler Bamdas – Behind The Loops – Ep.1

Behind The Loops is our newest series, the idea is simple; give filmers some shine by having them choose some clips they have filmed, loop those clips, and have them share a backstory from these sessions.

To launch this series we collaborated with Tyler Bamdas, who we became familiar with from his incredible video “Variety Vol. 2“, which we have mentioned before, as well as made loops from. Thankfully, Tyler was down to be the test run of “Behind The Loops”, and just as we expected, he came through with amazing clips, and intriguing stories for each and every one.

Without further adieu, here’s Tyler’s picks!

1. Josh Douglas

“We were trying to get a clip on this kinked rail at the same school but ended up cruising around and seeing what the school had to offer. We stumbled across this spot and ended up filming a line there first. It was just something unique and pretty different compared to your average stair set. He did a front 180 down switch 180 off to start and just went from there. I think he mentioned kickflip at first and then quickly switched up to 360 flip. Dodging the pole is crazy because where you land on the block is super narrow. Also how his arms were extending when he popped was crazy to watch. Every try it seemed like he was going to smack the fuck out the pole. After an hour or so it went down and couldn’t have been more perfect. All the boys were there for that one also which made it rad.”

Out To Get A Loop – Ep. 14 – JP Souza

Another JKWON Sunday, but this time, with JP Souza. JP’s tech ledge ability makes him a perfect match for a tile plaza full of ledges, which he has been skating and killing for years now. Although I’ve looped JP before, this was our first session together, and watching him skate in person was amazing. I really respect when a skateboarder is so specfic about how their tricks look, that they don’t accept a land until it looks just how they pictured it looking, and JP fits right into that category. A couple times during our session he did tricks that … Continue reading Out To Get A Loop – Ep. 14 – JP Souza

Out To Get A Loop – Ep.13 – Jkwon

Up to this point, each “Out To Get A Loop” episode has been focused on one skateboarder. This time I decided to switch it up and focus on one spot, Jkwon, and feature multiple skateboarders.

Nick Blanco and Tagg Spellman, joined familiar faces to The Skate Loop, Tanner Lawler and Austin Heilman on an early morning Jkwon Sunday.

The infamous Jkwon Bell & Radio Korea sign

Out To Get A Loop – Ep. 12 – Monica Torres

From her properly pinched front krooks, to the flick on her flip tricks, Monica has it. I have always been impressed by her ability to turn switch backside, which you’ll see below in her switch bs bigspin.

As we spent an afternoon together, Monica cruised around Chevy Chase Park, knocking out her go-to’s on the hip and ledge, showing her board control and consistency.

Here’s that pinch I was talking about, she’s got it real good.
