What’s Loopin’ 10/10

I’ve been enjoying the great videos that have been released recently, as well looking to some from the past, and making loops from those as well.

Here’s a check-in on some of my recent favorite loops from our Instagram, what it is that makes them stand out, and where they’re from –

This one is from JP Souza’s “I’ll Be Around” Part. Not only is it a trick you don’t see often, but the way he did it is incredible. Switch front tail 270 isn’t always the best looking trick, in my opinion, but JP makes it look beautiful. The way he whips it around and gets the full rotation is jaw dropping. All around, this is a great video part, from incredible tech tricks that will make you scratch your head, to the tasteful song selection, and Eric Iwakura‘s outstanding use of the VX1000.

Louie’s skating is easy on the eyes, and this trick is a prime example of that. I don’t recall seeing many BS 5-0 Heelflips before, and it was not what I was expecting to end this line, but wow it was a nice surprise. This clip is from Louie’s “Lola” Part, which is one I’ve watched multiple times since it released. It’s a part full of memorable, and great looking tricks, that back noseblunt shuv at 1:23 is one that comes to mind. Give this one a watch, or re-watch, it’ll make you wanna get out and skate.

Former’s “Cheap Perfume” video was one I was looking forward to, and it exceeded any expectations I could’ve had. This trick from Jake in particular is my favorite. This unique spot has caught my eye in the past, and Jake’s Wallie Noseblunt is a perfect way to use it. The little pop out on the Noseblunt is just icing on the cake of a great trick. This is just one of many standout’s from “Cheap Perfume”, Austyn and Jake killed it.

Back breaking tricks are personal favorite, the amount of board and body control that they take make them so hard to do, and this one from Nikolai Piombo’s “Shake Junt” Part is one that’s stuck on a loop in my mind. I love the way that his shoulders stay straight the whole time, being able to Back 180 into a Fakie Manny while keeping your shoulder straight takes skill. Definitely looking forward to more Nikolai in the future.

I ended up in a rabbit hole of WKND edits recently, and it led to their “Stories” video. While watching this, I had to rewind and watch this Frontside Flip from Christian Maalouf a few times. He’s known for his pop, but that doesn’t mean it isn’t mind blowing every time. The flick on this one, and that he managed to turn the whole Frontside 180 after catching the Kickflip put me in awe, and I knew it had to be looped.

As always, more loops are on the way. Stay looped up on our Instagram πŸŒ€
