It was time to round up some of my favorite loops we’ve posted recently, and give credit to the amazing videos these have been pulled from.
Miles Silvas flipping in & out from his recent “Spitfire” Part. Miles put a hurting on the infamous Macy’s ledges, while showing us that he’s got multiple variations of the Switch Flip Front Krook, and his trademarked look over the shoulder roll away. The Bay Area footage meshed so well with the two Mac Dre tracks, this one is a treat. Scope this little “Directors cut” by Eryk Burton as well, it’s dope to see what went into his Bigflip down that Sac triple set.
The 2020 SOTY himself, Mason Silva, going backside. Alley-oop tricks are special, even the pop shuv he did on Instagram at this spot a few months back stood out. One upping himself and doing this Tre Flip got me stoked. The way Mason lets it whip around, places his back foot on it, and lands full speed into that bank left me in awe. This is one of those clips that you can almost forget how gnarly it is, because of how easy he made it look.
Louie! What a cool trick. The fact that Louie did a ledge trick most people have never seen, by combining two very simple and common tricks together makes it even cooler to me. You might see a crazy tech ledge NBD, but for this one to be so simple yet tough, makes it even more impressive. Look at his shoulders, they were ready for that Frontside Flip right when he Ollied into the Back 5. This clip is from Louie’s part in “Seize The Seconds“, which also features a great part from Alexis Sablone, I should get busy making some Alexis loops…
The Nike SB Australia crew never misses, every video they drop is a masterpiece. “Welcome To Melbourne” isn’t any different, including some great looking ledge tricks by Ben Lawrie. Ben put a did his thing at this plaza, and this trick was one of my favorites. It almost looks like he used the twist into the Fakie Nosegrind as a pump and gained some speed. Be sure to watch Ben, Rowan Davis and the rest of their crew kill Melbourne.
As the intro to his part in Godspeed says, the champ is here. I’ve always thought Fakie Hardflips were beautiful, and Ishod doing it over a rail confirmed that for me. The outfit, the dope twin tail butterfly board graphic, and that rollaway all add up to make this one play on loop in my mind. I really enjoyed Godspeed as a whole, I feel like Davonte Jolly did a great job at including some personality in this video, as well as selecting well fitting songs for each part.Thank you to the whole crew involved in this video for a great Christmas gift to us all.
