It’s been a few weeks since I updated the blog, but there’s been plenty of new loops up on the Instagram. A couple weeks ago I did “Wade Week”, then followed it up with “Max Palmer week”, and just yesterday announced our giveaway with Thunder Trucks.
Wade Week was really fun. Although I’m not new to watching Wade’s footage, I had not seen some of his older parts before making these loops. I really enjoyed watching his footage, as he always looks relaxed and in control, while doing very tech tricks.
I mean, look at that rollaway. There’s no way that was hard for him. Not to take away from the difficulty of popping a trick over a couch, but he makes it look so nonchalant. In classic Wade style, he’s rockin a ghetto gown. I love this one.
When I think of frontside flips, Reynolds comes to mind, always. But, after being mesmerized by this incredible frontside flip, Wade will also come to mind whenever the topic of frontside flips comes up. The way he flicks the kickflip so fast, and is able to rotate the full 180 while going alley-oop over the rail is amazing.
Following up Wade Week was Max Palmer Week. They are two very different skateboarders, who are both amazing in their own right.
Max really embodies street skating to me, from the spots he skates, to the way he makes lines look like it’s just him cruising around the city. One thing I really like about this ledge clip is that it’s a trick that would only work at a spot like this. It’s not a trick you can practice doing at a skatepark. I imagine Max came up with the idea at that spot, and he did it. Going to fakie tops it off, and shows his board control.
I don’t understand this trick. Just trying it seems crazy. I back it, and I’m a fan of that roll away, it added to the clip. It had to have been a nice feeling landing on this one.
