During all this time of being inside, I’ve been able to watch lots of skating, and make loops from different videos all week.
Earlier in the week I rewatched “Variety’s Vol. 2” Video, a homie video by Tyler Bamdas. This is a really rad video, with a cool mix of skaters, and plenty of gnarly rail tricks. Here’s a couple loops I made from this video –
I’m a big fan of Patrick’s skating, and love the way he did this trick. It’s in a line, he does a high speed back noseblunt on the first bump to ledge, then this. The way he landed with his shoulders turned was so sick to me, and I think that the shuv almost going primo made it even cooler.
Look at the wiggle when he lands! This was a set up trick before Will jumped down some stairs, but it really stood out. I’ve always thought flat ground tricks were important in lines, especially if it’s a two trick line, and this clip proved that to me. Although this was just the set up trick, it got me really stoked.
I watched “Pastel” this week, a few times actually. This video was done by James Cruickshank, and I love the way he put it together. I’m a big fan of HD 4:3 footage, and I think James does that super well. Those night lines of Bobby De Keyzer skating the benches at the end are incredible.
Here’s the ender from “Pastel”, a trick I’ve never seen done any other time. As I said in the caption on the post, the full rotation of that full cab is insane. Bobby did this one just the way anyone would want to do it. This is one of those clips where I watch him rolling away and just imagine how good it must of felt.
Alex Schmidt had a collection drop for Butter Goods a couple months back, and this ad came along with it. I’ve gone back and watched it a few times, as I’m a fan of his skating. That nose manny to backside nosegrind always stands out, and that heelflip over the gate. That quick flip and perfect catch makes it look so good. Shout out to Cameron Holland too, the way he filmed it made it look even better.
