I know I love a skate video when it makes me want to write, and here I am, writing. 3 days ago, Baker made an Instagram post announcing that they had a new video dropping at midnight, and the countdown was on.
I was immediately looking forward to this video, and went to bed with the plan of watching the video as soon as I was up. I love that I didn’t know they were working on a video, it was teased for months, all of a sudden I just had to wait one day and then enjoy it. Although, a good build up and tease can be great, as well.
From the skating, to the music, and of course the B-Roll/Hijinx, this is a great watch. If you somehow missed it, scope it below, then enjoy the loops!
It kicked off with non other than The Boss. Reynolds is someone that I think just about everyone enjoys to watch. Although he’s often recognized for jumping, rightfully so, I was looking forward to some cool manuals, and well pieced together lines out of him, and got just that.
That pop out of the Front Blunt to get over and into the bank is amazing. It immediately stood out to me. I wanted to rewind to watch it again, but was too caught up in his next clip to do so. That beautiful sound of brick is a nice bonus here.
The Reynolds throw down. No one does it like him. He’s got a patent on this one. The reason I began making loops was to highlight tricks that I love, regardless of how “hard” they might be, it’s more so about how they look. This might just be a throw down, but it’s beautiful.
Power. Every trick in this line was powerful. Kader came in full speed, banged out this 4 trick line, and that was his only cameo in this video. It left me wanting more, but that’s the goal, right?
A “Pro Part” always feels extra important, like it’s the skaters statement to show why they earned a board. Well, Zach Allen took on that challenge, and made it very clear why his name is in the Baker font. What a way to kick off a part, this Cab Flip at EMB will probably be in my dream tonight.
Switch Hurricane’s aren’t seen everyday, but Rowan made this look mellow. I love the sound of that grind, and how casual this was in the part. Rowan seems like someone who can do any trick, no matter how hard it is, or if it’s a circus trick. “Hello It’s Me” by Todd Rundgren was a perfect fit with his footage, and a great way to wrap up this video.
Thank you to everyone at Baker who played a role in this video, I’ll be rewatching it for a while to come, and looking forward to the next! 🌀🤝
