Pt.2 – Tyler Bamdas – Behind The Loops Ep. 1

As I mentioned in part 1, Tyler came through with a handful of loops, so it was only right to split into 2 parts, and give each clip the attention it deserves. Here they are, watch em & read about em!

1.William Gomez

“Aragon! This one ended up going down on the second trip back there. I’m pretty sure he went the first time with this trick in mind and was doing krooks for a while before trying to flick in. After a little bit of trying the actual trick the cops ended up being called and we packed up. Will and I both knew that it could easily go down, so we went back about 2 weeks later to try it again. I was filming fisheye, my friend Luke was long lense, and the homie Spitzer was shooting the photo. Will battled it for a while this day. He would grind all the way and then hop off or it just wouldn’t lock in. Eventually, that right one just came and he rolled away perfectly. Everyone was so stoked. I’m pretty sure Julian picked him up and was carrying him around the school yard haha. Beers were cracked following the session and it was back to the house from there to upload the footage. Filming fisheye on that hubba through the VX was a crazy feeling, knowing the history behind that spot. Extremely memorable day that I’ll never forget.”

2.Julian Lewis

“This was a crazy day everyone! All the bros were in town from Massachusetts visiting so we sent it out to this rail one afternoon. We got there and Julian was hopping on grinds and just toying with the thing. Pat was also on this session and ended up doing a frontside hurricane within 15 minutes. Julian mentioned the front feeble to frontside grind and I was immediately stoked. That trick has been a bucket list one for me to film ever since I saw the clip of Figgy doing one at Muirlands in his “Bake and Destroy” Part. He did a front feeble and then just started lifting them up into a grind from there. The homie Peter was shooting long lense while I was fisheye and the other homie Ricky was shooting the photo. That session was rad also because those dudes are from Julian’s hometown and were helping everything come together. He rolled away and I just remember running full speed at him with the camera haha. I don’t think he’s filmed one of those in the streets leading up to that either. All around a rad day with an awesome crew of dudes.”

3.Ryan Hamburg

“This one I don’t have many words for haha. The clip pretty much does the talking. We were cruisin’ KoreaTown and this spot is always a fun one to hit. Ryan was firing off tricks that day. He back 360’d it within’ 5 minutes and then just started throwing the front 3 one foots. I love the way all his hair just drapes in front of his face as he exits the frame haha. The way he did it is just super satisfying for me to watch. One of my favorites for sure.”

4.Patrick Praman

“This one was a local rail for us at the time. Pat had recently moved to California and was staying with me in Huntington. I knew he wanted to film something on it, so we made the plan to cruise over there one morning and see what worked out. Nollie back overkrook seemed to be the one, so he started trying them. I stood on top of the car because the overhead angle was showing the trick pretty well I thought. We were in and out of there within 20 minutes or so with the make. This clip just stands out to me because it was right when Pat got out west. Dudes an animal for this one haha.”
